62.85 percent polling in Farrukhabad

In the first two hours, voters queued up at some booths only. 9.61 per cent voter turnout till 9 pm. After this, the crowd of people casting their votes increased in most of the polling stations. Due to this, the highest turnout of about 32 percent was recorded in four hours from 9 am to 1 pm. Due to this there were lines at the booths. Till 1 pm, 41.24 percent polling was recorded in the district. In the afternoon, the pace of polling began to slow down. Till 3 pm, 50.90 per cent voters in the district and 61.34 per cent voters exercised their franchise till 5 pm. The Returning Officer registered a case against the unknown youth at Kotwali Kulpahar after the photograph of the EVM was uploaded on social media. Voting began at 7 am in 787 booths of the district. There was a problem in the mock poll at many booths. Voting started one hour late in Tamoura and Kankuan due to faulty EVMs. Observer TS Rajasekhar, District Election Officer Manoj Kumar, Superintendent of Police Sudha Singh visited the booths and took stock of the activities from moment to moment. Villagers mobilized and did not reach the booths to cast their votes when the bridge connecting the village to Gadora of Charkhari Vidhan Sabha was not constructed. Similarly, the villagers of Basaria refused to vote for not getting compensation for the crop damaged due to hailstorm. On information, SDM Kulpahar Sweta Pandey, CO Umeshchandra reached the spot and explained to the villagers. After the assurance, the villagers agreed.
